About the event

More than 100 singers and a full orchestra come together for Pulitzer Prize-winner Gabriela Lena Frank's Conquest Requiem, a sweeping work that explores power, survival, and memory through Malinche, the Indigenous interpreter at the center of the Spanish conquest of Mexico. Resonance is joined by Orchestra Nova Northwest, Choral Arts Ensemble of Portland, soprano Jessica Rivera (who created the role of Malinche at the 2017 world premiere), and baritone Adrian Rosales. The program also features the world premiere of Courage by Giancarlo Castro D'Addona, honoring Portland peace activist Del Greenfield. A post-concert panel follows.
