About the event

Nun, abbess, poet, and composer, Kassia is the earliest woman composer whose music survives. This Lenten program features her famous "Hymn of Kassianí" and restores her odes for Holy Saturday, texts once suppressed in favor of those by male poets. Conducted by John Michael Boyer.
